Germany's future is not being negotiated, it is being researched – and it needs leadership now! At the Research & Innovation Summit 2025, part of the Falling Walls Science Summit, the focus is on resilience and talent.
Gebrüder Schwanke Personalberatung was there to understand the strategic priorities for Germany's competitiveness. In her keynote speech, Federal Research Minister Dorothee Bär emphasized the urgency of de-risking, digital sovereignty, and international networking. These strategic topics played a central role in all panels.
Astrid Lambrecht (Jülich Research Center) called for cooperation: “Politics, science, and industry work together.” This was echoed by Maria Leptin (ERC President), who lamented a “lack of foreign scientists” because access to the German and European higher education system is too complicated.
Our conclusion: these strategic challenges can be solved directly in executive search. Science is the engine of progress, and we provide the executives who can accelerate this transformation and integrate international talent. The topic of science is more important than ever for the personnel consulting and executive search sector.
We would like to thank the Stifterverband for making this important exchange possible.
